Call for Nominations: Civil society speaker in the 10 December United Nations event to launch the International Decade for People of African Descent

At the request of the Office of the President of the General Assembly (OPGA), the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) is conducting an open process to obtain nominations for a civil society speaker in the UN event to officially launch the International Decade for People of African Descent, which will take place at UN Headquarters in New York on Human Rights Day, 10 December from 3:00-6:00pm. Criteria for candidates for this role are outlined in Section A below. The individual selected will receive travel funding.

Preparations begin for the Third International Conference on Financing for Development

arton4557The third International Conference on Financing for Development will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 13-16 July 2015. It will gather high-level political representatives, including Heads of State and Government, and Ministers of Finance, Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, as well as all relevant institutional stakeholders, non-governmental organizations and business sector entities. The Conference will result in an inter-governmentally negotiated and agreed outcome, which should constitute an important contribution to – and support the implementation of – the post-2015 development agenda.

World Conference on Indigenous Peoples: Moving Forward in Realizing Rights of Indigenous Peoples

“An Appeal to heal the Earth and save humanity”: Special Tribute to Sarath Fernando, founding member of LVC Movement for National Land and Agricultural Reform

Summary of the 10 September meeting between the PGA and Civil Society in advance of the High-level Stocktaking Event on the Post-2015 Development Agenda
