During the fifth meeting of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals, UN-NGLS presented its report Advancing Regional Recommendations on the Post-2015 Agenda, along with policy briefs drawn from its regional teleconferences and online consultations on the post-2015 agenda.
Anita Nayar, Chief of UN-NGLS in New York, presented an overview of the report and its key recommendations, gathered from 120 regional civil society networks that collectively collaborate with over 3,000 national and community-based organizations. These findings point to four main objectives for the post-2015 development agenda, which surfaced through clear convergence of priorities identified by regional civil society networks:
> Rebalance power relations for justice;
> Fulfill human rights and overcome exclusion;
> Ensure equitable distribution and safe use of natural resources;
> Establish participatory governance, accountability and transparency.
