On 30 September and 1 October 2010, theConference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations(CoNGO) will organize theGeneva Componentof its Civil Society Development Forum 2010 (CSDF 2010).
Under the theme “Women’s Human Rights and Development: Inclusion, Participation, and Equity,” the Geneva Component will build on and review theOutcome Documentof theNew York Componentof the CSDF (4-5 May 2010) in conjunction with theMinisterial Declaration, adopted at this year’s Annual Ministerial Review (AMR) of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) (New York, 28 June - 1 July). It will also consider the recently established UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the outcomes of the UN "MDG Summit" (20-22 September 2010). Its main aim is to develop concise action points for governments, the UN System and civil society that will advance gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Call for Submissions of Action Points
To prepare for the Geneva Component and to ensure an inclusive process,CoNGO has also launched anonline formthrough which interested organizations can provide comments on the above mentioned Outcome Document and Ministerial Review, as well as submit proposals for concrete action points for governments, the UN System and civil society that will strengthen gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The form is structured around the following five themes of the New York component, which will also be the basis for the upcoming deliberations at the Forum:
Legal and Institutional Mechanisms: Implementation and Enforcement;
Women and Sustainable Development;
Gender Discrimination: Multiple Layers and Multiple Forms;
Women, Decent Work and Migration;
Women’s Health and Reproductive Rights.
